With a career spanning mortgage lending, financial services, and fintech, Clay has built a reputation for helping clients navigate complex financial situations and identify opportunities for growth. He has extensive experience managing the full loan lifecycle across a variety of mortgage products, including conventional, FHA, VA, and HELOC loans. Throughout his career, Clay has worked closely with borrowers, referral partners, and business clients, developing a consultative approach centered on relationship building, problem-solving, and delivering results. His background also includes leadership roles in sales and partnership development, where he focused on business growth, compliance, and expanding strategic relationships.

Clay was drawn to Angel Oak because of the company’s reputation as a leader in the Non-QM space and its commitment to innovation within the mortgage industry. He was excited by the opportunity to combine his lending knowledge with his experience building strategic partnerships while helping originators access solutions for borrowers who may not fit traditional lending guidelines. Outside of work, Clay enjoys spending time outdoors and can often be found boating, fishing, wakeboarding, skiing, golfing, or enjoying time at the beach. Originally from upstate New York, he is a passionate Buffalo Bills fan and proudly considers himself part of Bills Mafia. He also enjoys discovering new restaurants, listening to live music, and spending time with family and friends.
