Jocelyn De Guzman

Jocelyn De Guzman brings dedicated service to mortgage professionals throughout California’s San Francisco Bay Area, backed by over 22 years of experience in the real estate and mortgage industry—most of which has been rooted in the Non-QM space.

Jocelyn began her career in 2003 while finishing her final quarter at California State University, East Bay, working as an auditor in the Non-QM HELOC department at World Savings Bank. Her personable nature and ability to connect with colleagues quickly led her into Inside Sales within the Wholesale Division, where she was the only trainee among a seasoned team. She excelled and transitioned into an Outside Sales AE role with Argent Mortgage in 2005. After the 2008 market collapse, Jocelyn shifted to Retail, becoming a licensed Loan Officer in 16 states through Lending Tree, and later worked with Prospect Mortgage and Bank of America, covering key areas in Los Angeles from 2011 to 2016.

Following a move back to the Bay Area to care for her aging parents, Jocelyn continued her work as a Loan Agent and Realtor, eventually founding her own mortgage company, Meraki Mortgage, in 2019. She also partnered with a real estate firm to generate leads and support clients. After the loss of her mother in 2024, Jocelyn took time off to reflect and ultimately returned to her roots in Wholesale, where her passion for the industry began. She’s excited to be part of Angel Oak and hopes it will be the company she retires with.

Jocelyn chose Angel Oak for its strong position in the Non-QM market, its growth potential, and the backing of Brookfield, which she learned about through her RSM, Larry Mize. She loves the fast-paced nature of the industry, the continuous learning, and the collaborative wins that come with closing loans. Her years of experience on both the retail and wholesale sides give her a unique ability to support originators with empathy, education, and actionable strategies to grow their business.

Outside of work, Jocelyn enjoys gardening, golf, DIY art projects, cooking, karaoke, studying the Bible and world religions, traveling, hot yoga, and cheering on the Golden State Warriors – she’s been a fan since the days of Chris Mullin and Tim Hardaway.
